I'm looking for a supplier of a 'D' handle and chain to suspend from the ceiling (anchored to a rafter), above my bath to make getting out easier. My local Mobility shop only has a device to fix to the headboard of a bed.

Would the one designed to go over the bed not be suitable for over a bath? Is it the length of the chain that is the problem?

The bed one is mainly metal, arching over, with a short chain attached to the D handle.
We used to have one that fitted on the wall, try Social Services,They could perhaps get one for you .
Social services should be able to put you in touch with occupational therapy who will visit your home and assess your needs, they will then tell you what aids can be fitted and arrange for this to be done for you,it is usually funded by the local authority so you pay nothing.
Here is an organisation that may be able to help you http://www.remap.org.uk
