Is my mom becoming a chain-smoker?

Is my mom becoming a chain-smoker?
My mom is 49 and start smoking a few years ago with
my step dad. She was not smoking much until now.
She is smoking 3-4 packs a day now, and can't stop.
I often see her lighting two cigarettes at once and i
don't know what to do?
