How long does it take to get biopsy results back once they are under review?

I had a pippette biopsy done just over three week ago, was told I was going to get a letter in post after 2 weeks, I rang hospital yesterday and she told me they can't give results over the phone. When I asked how long I could expect to wait she checked and said the results were back and waiting for review if it was anything serious they would ring to make appointment if not they would write but she still couldn't say if i'd get results before christmas. Does anyone know how long it would take or if the results would have been viewed before going on consultants desk and the serious ones taken out?
