After reading on this site that coconut oil is good for hair which is dry and damaged I bought some.
It is super and is already making a difference.
My question is whether people can be allergic to coconut like they are to peanuts. I should hate to cause problems to anyone.

Apparently it can cause problems in some people:

However, coconut oil is used in lots of things - face creams, hand creams, shampoo, conditioner, soap, detergent, margarine so I think a person would know if they were allergic to such a common commodity
Where did you get yours from?

I used to get a little tub if it from Superdrug (was in a hardened form) and it just made my hair really greasy and was a real pain to get out.

Ethel - thank you for your comments. It seems I will just have to take a chance. I should hate someone to be ill on my account though.
Jenna 1978 - The coconut oil I have was in solid form too from Holland and Barrett. I am slapping it on my hair and it just soaks in and disappears! I think mine must be starved of any oil. It seems to be helping. I am also using it on my skin as well - much cheaper than moisturiser.
Thanks for replying.
