Drooping eye lid (again)
6 Answers
I have posted a message on here before about my drooping eyelid and I am still having no joy from my doctor and the eyelid is getting worse all the time..
I am writing to see if anyone perhaps knows if there is somewhere I could upload a picture of my eyes (a website Or medical advice site) to show others what is happening with my eye and get some advice? All a bit random.. but desperate times call for desperate measures!
Cheers guys :-)

I think the wait and see approach is what is happening but you are right sqad617 its not really what I want! Its hard as when you see the doctor and they say wait and see I dont think they realise how much it emotionally affects that person! :-( I am dreading a school reunion that I have coming up as I will have to show off my awful eye! I have been looking at eye adhesives and eyelid tape in order to hold it up, but not sure where I can purchase such things!
I just wonder whether I should have had a blood test or some sort of test....im only 28 and it seems a bit random!
Thanks guys for your help xx

A drooping eyelid is known as 'ptosis' and is a common finding in aging eyes. I can be a result of mechanical or neurological problems and should be investigated if you have concerns. A silly question but have you seen an optician??
They will be ale to refer you for ophthalmological assessment if necessary.

Hi ya
York 310.. im only 28! I asked whether it was due to aging and was laughed at by doctor, so not that one at this age!
I saw my optition several times last year as I was getting tension headaches and thought it was due to my prescrition.. but we believe it is actually down to the fact that am constantly raising my eyebrows in order to lift the lid... (well try too!) And holding my eyebrow up in a kind of surpised way is not a natural constant position so that was headaches apparently!!! Im due another appointment in the new year for my yearly check up.
I am returning to my surgery with a whole new appraoch in the new year, my doctor is on maternity now so have to see another, perhaps they can offer a little more help to me.. either which way I want this issue resovled in 2009. I have been hiding behind my glasses for this christmas period, feeling most unattractive! New Year (hopefully) new me!!
Thank you guys. Hope Christmas has been magical for you all :-)
