Yes, I have.
It's a two stage condition - first you are afraid you might die, then you are afraid you might not!
OK, joking apart - it's a very painful condition, like having lit cigarettes placed all over your skin, while simultaniously taking al your energy, so you lie there and hurt.
It's a variation of the chicken pox virus and it inflames the nerve endings, hence the pain.
It's often caused by stress, and the virus lies dormant in your system and can flair up again.
Your GP will recognise it instantly and sign you off with some lotion and maybe tablets.
Hit the sack and let it run it's course. Hope it's not too painful for you.

I just had them and it b****y hurt like hell!!!
Doc said to me that some people have more pain than others but the most severe pain was the Hyper Sensativity, its really painful when something touches the affected area.
Sorry not great news but it was only really painful for the first two weeks and then not too bad for a further two weeks and all ok now!!!!
Make sure you're stoked up on paracetamol!!!!
Hope you get better soon!

Yes, I had them when I was pregnant and was terrified it'd be dangerous for the bub until the doc put my mind at rest.
At first I thought I had been bitten as I had an itchy sore spot. Then it spread and got to be very painful. It was small blistery type spots across my lower chest/upper stomach (under the bra line), that spread around my side and on to my back. They hurt every time I moved. If I had been able to get to the doc sooner they could have prescribed tablet and ointment. But they told me to just sit it out!

I had shingles many years ago. I had a patch of blisters that ran down my spine inbetween my shoulder blades. It hurt like hell! My mother (I lived with my parents at the time!) had to sit there and painstakingly paint every blister with this solution that I got from the doctors. Not nice to have and I wish you a speedy recovery.
