so young, so sad....

my cousin was found dead yesterday by her 14 year old son, she was 34. The coroner thinks its related to her weight and that she iether had a heart attack or she suffercated in her sleep. So sad. Its scary to think that someone so young can go so quickly and that being overweight can kill you.

I;m sorry to hear that. it is scary that someone so young can die yes, but not that being overweight can kill you, there are so many warnings over weight issues nowadays. Hows the son?

I am so sorry to hear what has happened to your cousin and the fact that her son found her. What a shock for you both. We are so used to people dying of famine we don't really think we can die of being overweight - not at 34 anyway.

Coroners report unlikely to be done yet. Sometimes coroners 'think out loud' not a good idea really but gives family an idea about what might have happened.

she has 2 boys, one whos 14 (the one who found her) and a 12 year old. She had been warned about her weight for years but i suppose she took it for granted that she was young and perhaps had the attitude that i wouldnt happen to her. The youngest one was staying at their dads but tom doesnt get on with him so stayed with his mam, hes absolutely devestated, well they both are, how do you ever get over finding your mam dead in her bed, so sad. There is going to be a p.m but my auntie spoke to the coroner and he said that her weight is most probably the contributing factor to her death.

Who will look after the children now and the fact that one of the children does not get on with Dad probably wont help. Are they close to other family members - aunts or uncles.

danny will probably go with his dad because he is close to him, but i dont know about the older one, at the moment hes staying with grandparents, to be honest he will probably stay there.

What a situation to be in. It means that the family will be split up. I think that when we're young we tend to think I'll do it tomorrow or I'll start it tomorrow. My heart goes out to the children. Some kids just never recover fully from a loss such as that.
