Ladies (& Sqad) : vaginal dryness

A colleague of mine is c/o vaginal dryness. I think part of it's her age (almost 50), being pre-menopausal. She's tried the usual lubricants - KY, Sylk etc. I recommended Vitamin E capsules, meaning orally, but she asked if she could just go "straight to the source" so to speak - and insert them internally. I laughed initially - but is this such a daft idea? The coating of the capsules dissolves, so surely inserted into the vagina, at night before going to sleep, would be just as if not more effective?

Anyone tried this? Any comments?

Good grief, whats up with a good old bottle of baby oil? And no, I don't mean inserting the bottle directly!

Nice!
Bit oily though... I think vitamin-e serum is more likely to adhere to the vaginal wall ?
Or it could lead to questions when it sticks to his penis, kinda like a jelly tot!
Errr, not that I know what a jelly tot stuck to a penis looks like....
salla...the vaginal mucusa does NOT absorb vit E or anything else for that matter....for all the good it would do she might just as well stick it up her...............well you know.

BOO's ideas is fine for the copulatory act, but is short term. The problem is lack of oestrogen and a cream such as Dianoestrol or similar would be a better bet.

I'm puzzled, of course it's short term- how long does she want to be bonking for? I'ts not an olympic sport yet ya know ;-)

An oestrogen cream is her best bet sqad, but she's a bit funny with things like that - doesn't like anything "unnatural" (!!), avoids medications, drugs & all that sort of thing - that's why I recommended vitamin-e.

I did suggest maybe the problem lies with her husband - lack of foreplay etc. But she didn't want to discuss that aspect - she's convinced its a menopausal symptom.

thanks Legend - your knowledge of intimate female parts never fails to astound me. It's a good thing in a man.
I am still impressed by the Mooncup thread you started once :-)
BOO..LOL....I assumed the questioner wanted a long term or even permanent cure for vaginal dryness, but maybe I misinterpreted it.

Have just checked in the New England Journal of Medicine and leggy is quite correct about the efficacy of Replens.
I don't even know what I am doing on a thread about vaginal dryness. I think I'll go and sit in the garden and read some more Trollope.
