Nose Bleeds

Since yesterday morning I have been suffering really heavy nose bleeds, mostly from my left nostril but on a couple of occasions from both. Have been checked out at the hospital. Blood pressure is fine, no blood disorders detected and no weak spots inside my nostrils found upon examination. Any reason why they may be happening? Never had a nose bleed in my life before. Thanks in anticipation of any help.

You don`t mention your age, as many people, like myself, also have nose bleeds, but mine are due to taking Warfarin which is an anticoagulant. Are you taking any vitamin pills or iron tablets? Young persons get them quite regularly, so all I can suggest is to squeeze the top of your nostrils and don`t let the blood run down your throat, and if possible hold an pack of frozen peas, wrapped in a cloth on the back of the neck and don`t drink hot fluid for an hour or so, also breath cold air through your nose and out through your mouth. Hope that helps.

I'm 41 and don't take any blood thinning meds at all. Thanks for your advice but I was wondering what the cause might be bearing in mind I seem perfectly healthy - just one of those things I suppose.
My daughter used to suffer badly from nose bleeds. She was always told to hold her wrists under cold running water. This tip worked a treat.
