Vaginal infections
9 Answers
Hi, sorry this post may sound a bit yucky but i need some advise, i suffer badly with vaginal infections, if its not thrush then its BV, i use femfresh for washing, and simple bubblebath and salt for batheing in, i have an infection now which swabs have been taken this morning as the discharge was green ( sorry ) im getting the infections about every 2 months or so, i asked the nurse if it could be an underlying problem but she said its doubtful, can anyone shed some light on this for me, maybe? Thank you

I've heard some doubts over products such as femfresh, that they can disturb the natural bacteria down there.
Could be worth asking for a referral to have things checked out to see if there is anything underlying or whether you are just prone and, if so, is there is anything more you can be doing.
You could concentrate on trying to boost your immune system and get rid of the bacteria causing the infections, reducing conditions which might accelerate the bacteria such as warm, damp, moists etc... by keeping the area cool and dry, maybe light cotton knickers and looser trousers and avoiding tights and such.
Do you have any other conditions like diabetes?

See your doctor rather than just the nurse as whatever you have sounds a bit too established for diy treatments and if he can't help ask for a referral to a gynaecologist
but try to avoid all detergents and soaps and cleansers down below just to reduce any irritation that can add to the problem. A green discharge sounds like it needs antibiotics rather than antifungals or maybe a combination of both.
Good luck it sounds miserable for you
