Once the bugs have bitten I find the only way to deal with them is from the inside, ie by taking anti-histamine tablets. Boots own 'one a day non-drowsy' suit me fine & I've just had to take one, I was bitten walking down the garden an hour ago! :o(
Amber Rose, mazzies love me, but I have found one of the most effective deterrents (suprisingly) is "Skin So Soft Dry body oil spray" from Avon. It smells OK (unlike some of the chemical sprays) so I always have it in my bag,. That and a mozzie plug for the wall worked on holiday, I came back from Morocco with only 3 bites - and I always carry an After Bite stick in my handbag so if the little toads bite, I can dab it traight away before the irritant takes full-blown effect. PS Avon had an offer a couple of weeks ago of 4 bottles for £10, bargain (and I'm nothing to do with Avon, only a satisfied customer!)
This is what I was meaning!

It sounds amazing - but it really does work!!! permanently!!! I have three bites and none are itching.. and I have 'zapped' them just twice
