Buy a tube of Bongela from the Chemists - it always clears up my mouth ulcers.
Cause is basically unknown, but they are associated with many disorders...Google Aphthous Ulcers.

Treatment is as Eland101 describes or Corlan pellets which contain a steroid.
The existence of any other symtoms could also give a clue as to whether anything specific is behind them, as Sqad says, a number of conditions can cause them. Likely to be just one of those things but if any other relevant symptoms, get them checked out.
corsodyl is good for clearing up ulcers but dilute it first
if you're getting a twitching type sensation in your eye you may be run down and need iron and vitamins and anaemic or something spelt similar to that

<<<<<Are they similar to stomac ulcer?<<<

No.
Mouth ulcers...aren't they just like painful spots?

Stomach ulcers are dangerous...
Very different from painful spots ummmm. They are ulcers and not unlike stomach ulcers, or ulcers anywhere else for that matter. Horrible things - I used to have them a lot as a child and teenager, but not so much these days.
Squad, I thought ulcers were erosions on the mucous membranes in the mouth or stomach, so there much me some sort of similarity surely. I am not saying they are the same, but mouth ulcers are nothing like spots!!
lofty.....ulcers are just a medical description and can occur anywhere in the body where the mucosa presents itself....stomach, mouth, vagina, small bowel, the eyes etc.

There are many causes of an ulcer depending upon where they are and even then there can be multiple causes for ulcers in even one site...e.g the mouth.

Doe that make sense?
Thanks Sqad. I did realise they could occur in other places. You said earlier in the thread that mouth ulcers were not like stomach ulcers. I understand that, but they are basically ulcers as opposed to 'spots' tumours, etc. What about leg ulcers t hough, they are not connected with mucous membranes?
I meant it in a way that if a mouth ulcer bursts death is not likely...unlike a stomach ulcer.
Very true ummmm. I wasn't getting at your posting in any way - just curious in wondering why Sqad said mouth ulcers were not like stomach ulcers. My mouth ulcers used to be excruiatingly painful and I would get two or three huge ones at a time. It seems quite common in children, often without any terrible underlying cause.
I think I've only had the really sore white spot...probably a very minor ulcer and just presumed everyone gets them the same.
Lofty...morning darling....are you sure you were a ward orderly and not a doctor?

It is difficult to know at what level to pitch my answers, so as not to be accused of being a "clever devil"..."Googler " "Quack" Para-medic...........ect ect........but for you my love, I look upon you as a professional equal and this is reflected in my answers to you.

Ulcer....is a discontinuity of surface epithelium....usually mucosa, but occasionally skin.
ulceration ..erosion of a surface membrane leaving the underlying tissues including nerve endings exposed skin is a membrane hence leg ulcers....
Thank you Sqad and Rowan.

I feel honoured Sqad. Professional equal, ha, ha. I have never been a Head Porter though!!
