Hi sqad, I saw my cancer doctor to-day and was told my PSA was shooting up about 300, so things aren`t looking too good for the future. He want`s to put me on a low dose of Morphine liquid but I`m worried as I`ve never taken this before and don`t believe in `drugs` of any discription. I realise they are for pain, but are they dangerous in any way or will they affect my warfarin? I didn`t think to ask these Q`s at the time.

Carlton, please stop thinking like that and listen to your doctors. My uncle had the same problem and said the same thing you said. Cancer developed in the prostate and he still refused the doctors help. The cancer grew and spread throughout his organs and he died last year. He suffered so much for twelve yeas and put the family through so much grief. Do take my advice and listen to your doctor before it's too late.

Carlton, sorry to read this are on a down turn, I too was wary of the Oramorph with my husbands pain control, but as his consultant told me, it is a very effective form of relief. O presume the Doctors know of your warfarin too, so should be no contraindications, if in doubt ask a pharmacist.

Carlton..........there should be no inter reaction between your morphine and your warfarin. There is a suggestion that it may upset your INR results, but to me, that is no big deal.
The morphine does not have any adverse effects and is to be given only for your pain........which I presume is bone pain.
Sudden rise in PSA is not the best news, but it will take more than that to knock of a "man of steel".....like wot you are.
