Drink water after meals and chew "orbit" gum. Clean teeth twice a day with a good whitening tooth paste. Having it done pro makes teeth look unnatural (check out some tv/film stars), can be expensive and could even damage the teeth.
I had my teeth whitened last June, you can go as white as you want so it does not look unnatural. I had mine done at the dentist it cost me £250. It's called Evolution ice made by Enlighten Labs. You have a mould of your teeth made and have to put this substance in and sleep with it on for 14 days - but if your teeth are sensitive it might be difficult - some people can't do it. When I had finished my 14 days my teeth were very bright but they do tone down - and you use it every couple of months to keep them pearly white. See you dentist and he will advise. Good luck.
I`ve had my teeth laser whitened. I had it done abroad so it was a lot cheaper. My teeth went 5 shades lighter. It will only lighten them to your natural shade. The brilliant white teeth you see on tv presenters/film stars are veneers, not laser whitened teeth. The dentist made me a mould and I bought a peroxide gel which you use yourself to maintain the results. The percentage of peroxide gel you get in the UK for maintenance isn`t as high as the stuff you can get from the internet. I`ve been a bit lax about maintenance but a friend of mine commented recently that my teeth looked white and it was about 18 months ago I had it done (I drink red wine and tea as well)
Yes, I forgot to say the whiter your teeth are to begin with the lighter they go - mine were quite white before - my dentist was very pleased with the result and wanted me to sit in reception and advertise ! His receptionist tried to have hers done but was unable because she was allergic to the bleach and got as very sore mouth.
