Hi, my daughter is currently on holiday in Mexico, so I know what I am about to say is in in way true! At near on 12 last night I received a call on my mobile from a 'lad' saying rather joyously that he had F$$$$$ my 13 year old daughter last night. I was a little gobsmacked to say the least, but asked him how the weather was out there!
He phoned twice in total, once claiming to be his mum and had the stupidity to leave a caller id, I also have a good idea of who he is as he bullied my daughter a few years back and has always been a spectre in her life. I have contacted and am awaiting replies from a couple of my daughters friends to see if they can confirm who the number belongs to.
So....what would you do? Leave well alone or confront, if I can prove it is him [or whoever it is] parents.
This is the thing, there are no messages, it was a voice call, though of course they will be logged on my phone. I have my daughters old number and have had some calls asking for her before but not like this!!! I feel it would be a case of his word against mine and really don't see the police taking action on that.
Oh and this sounds silly but my daughter is 14 now....early morning head on I'm afraid, she has had her birthday while on holiday.
Follow it through...the call time and number will be logged..and as your daughter is under 16 the Police are obliged to make enquiries... this idiot needs a kick up the***@@@***
Makes no difference, divegirl - pop down to the copshop today and have a chat with them. They'll advise on the best course of action (and they can easily track phone numbers).
Thank you for the advice, I will ring them as soon as my niece has been picked up, bit hard to concentrate with a crying 5 week old in my arms....Oh what a day!
I agree with the previous posters, divegirl. Report it today while its fresh in your mind. The police will then have a history on this boy should he ever do anything further to you and your daughter or somebody else.
I'd also arrange a chat with your daughter's year leader too so that the school are aware of his behaviour.
ring the non emergency police contact centre and report it - he someone is making sexual threats against children they need to be talked to even if it is some strange prank. If it was a landline I would call and try and speak to someone else there about the problem who might be able to intervene
I'd send a text saying something like, 'right, of course you did' as this may make him text you a reply, thus leaving evidence. As with other replies, I would also definitely report it to the police.
Hi, just to let you all know, I have spoken to the police who have assured me I did the right thing and they will be sending an officer within 48 hrs. [as it's obviously not a priority] , he did say he thought I had showed constraint as I have found out the lads name, he said he would have gone round there in person!
