Why do poeple usually from deprived backgrounds give their children weird 'made up' names? i find it amazing that a lot of the time (not all) you can usually tell what the parent is like by the child's name. Has anyone else noticed this?

Went to a chistening last week where the child was named 'Darcy' ..... and the smell of a fresh joint wafted through the air before entering church.
'Christening' ...
Beef? lamb? pork?

Oh... do you not mean a joint of meat?
I actually love the smell, but it seemed innapropriate lol!!
I guess unless folk created new names every generation would be named the same as the last, and it the same as those before it. At least it freshens up the name pool.
there have been may parents who had a super rich background but still they gave their children weird names
