Fed up with all these gay issues, let's get back on the real issues that are changing the face of England.

I refer of course to this story of slavery in the UK in 2011.

And this connected story of yet another gang of Muslims who went on trial yesterday accused of a catalogue of child prostitution offences against vulnerable teenage girls as young as 13.

These are not isolated crimes, they unfortunately are on the increase.

Well it wasn't much of a problem in 1811 either.

In UK, our forefathers were mostly concerned with raking in the profits from supplying slaves in the Americas.

The number of slaves here was relatively insignificant. Unless of course we broaden the category to include the huge number of indigenous people (particularly children) indentured into service or forced down mines or into factories for a pittance by their own people.

I don't like the word 'grooming' which seems to crop up when describing young girls. They are just child prostitutes hoping to escape their life existance and have money to feed their drug habits. They are not forced into a life of prostitution. I notice many of the girls are East Europeans as I was expecting the term easy meat which British girls have been accused of.

as per Zeuhl the percentage of Brits who were involved in, or benefitted from the slavery trade was miniscule. This is why it annoys me when us and our forefathers are tarred with the slavery brush.

once here they are battered till they agree to work in the massage parlours

I believe the wealth of cities like Bristol and Liverpool was based on the profits from the slave trade.
These days you only have to look at Vivastreet to see the number of Asian and East European escorts. No women would do that sort of work if they had other options.

Rov - how do you manage to construct a sentence with the phrase "'just' child prostitutes ..." in it? The use of the word 'just' infers that there are worse things for a child to be - although for the life of me i cant think of one! Since you seem to think this is a triffling issues, maybe you could explain what you think might be worse?

And while i thave your attention - your phrase "They are not forced into a life of prostitution ..."

In your world, is prostituion considered a career choice for any woman - much less for a child? every prostitute is forced into it - only the degree of force varies.

No woman would willingly choose to sell her body for sex if she could see any other feasible way of making that amount of money by another means - or indeed, escaping from the circumstances that have led her into that life.

Your casual dismissal of these desparate women and children beggars belief.

andy some have chosen it for what they see as easy money, over a grand for one 12 hour shift tax free there is no way she coould earn that kind of money in any other job.

sandy - you're right, Liverpool's history is very strongly linked to the slave trade, the building in which I work has engravings depicting slaves, it's been shown on a tv programme about a tour around the city centre.

AOG - just to pick you up on the obvious, in the 2nd post its mentions nothing of the mens' religion. I appreciate some of their names would suggest they are Muslim but to use such an assumption in your argument could only be deliberately provocative. It is an interesting post, it would be a shame to ruin it by straying from the facts for whatever reason.

I notice that the majority of posters who have commented on this matter seem to have focused mainly on the adult prostitutes, but have failed to comment on the more serious matter, that being the grooming of children for sex by these Muslim men.

It is sickening, there were similar reports earlier in the week (in fact I think you're supporting a point made here!) about a similar situation in Manchester. It's good to see they're being found out.

Here is a link to the Manchester story you mentioned. No names, religion or pictures of Asian men are used, so that accounts for the lack of a Daily Mail report or concerned post from AOG.

Let me try to explain, yes I assumed that these monsters were Muslim, since they are Pakistanis and also by their names.

Although the media seem to reluctant to accuse Muslims, I think it is unfair to Hindus, Sikhs and other Asians, to class them as just Asian.

Why the Media, Police etc seem to carefully tread on glass when using the word Muslim or Islam, I just do not know, why even the prosecutor found it necessary to say, "that the case was ‘not about race, religion, colour or creed’.

Yes it is, the authorities must find out why it is that men belonging to a certain religion are taking part in this increasing problem. It would be equally important if it was some members of a white Christian sect, that were committing these odious crimes.

AOG - I can't see where it says that they're Pakistani either and, to be fair, the Daily Mail has never been known to 'keep the fact that they're Muslim on the down low'!
If these 10 men in Manchester were white Christian, would you feel the need to mention this? Is it not unfair to decent, honourable Muslims to suggest that the disgusting acts of these men are linked directly to their (suspected) religion?
The fact remains, we have no idea at all as to how much religion, any religion, plays in their life so to assume such a thing is a deciding factor just by looking at their names is a little prejudgemental to say the least!

Has it occurred to you that the men in the Manchester case might not be Muslims. The fact that their religion, or names are not mentioned (for legal reasons rather than any deception of the public) does not prove your point at all. We will have to wait until they are charged.
