Ear plugs

Hello all just wish to know that when I fit foam ear plugs into my ears there is a pounding of my pulse. I wear these not pushed all the way in but enough to be safe in my view and not to be painfull. I have to wear these as I sleep during the day by a main road in a house of course.  If you say its bad for me I will go in other ways to have complett silence.

Marcus, check with your chemist and ask to see their range of earplugs - they should have a soft foam type available which you can hardly feel - we use them off-shore and they work very efficiently, but make sure they fit snuggly into the ear canal.

failing that, move to a back bedroom...LOL

When I wear earplugs, I become more aware of my normal body noises, especially heartbeat (pulse). It may be that you just don't notice your heartbeat in a normally noisy environment?

It shouldn't bother you too much if you use Boots disposable ear plugs - they are bright orange and the most comfortable in the shop.

I wear wax ear plugs too and are comfortable.  Just make sure what ever ear plug you use they are clean

Whenever your ears or clogged be it from earplugs, a cold, or congestion you will hear your heartbeat.  Don't know EXACTLY why though, but I think it has something to do with the Eustacian tube being blocked.
