hair help

my hair is long, naturally curly but i straighten it cos its unmanageable which makes it quite fine.

I am having it highlighted and would like some ideas on a cut that is easy to manage and will maybe give the illusion of being thicker, without getting it all hacked off! (pref straightish styles - maybe layers?), and nothing majorly overtrendy!

Can anyone find me any pics that i could take with me for ideas? I know the hairdresser wil give me ideas but i would like a few pics of styles to take along with me
