If you have a problem with your eyes and you wear glasses or contact lens, see your Optician rather than the Doctor. Some recommend bathing the eyes with Johnsons baby shampoo in cooled boiled water, this did not work for me. My suggestion, not home made, but recommended without any doubt for cleansing, soothing and keeping it under control are Johnson's gentle eye make-up remover pads, (the fact that you don't wear make up doesn't matter!) use one per eye each morning and again last thing at night. Best thing I have used. (Pink and white tub, with face care products,Tesco's). I don't think you can get rid of it, just keep it under control. Don't use just any brand, make sure they are Johnson's.
Half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in cup of hot water, allow to cool and apply with cotton bud or small piece of cotton wool to eyelids. Always use fresh one each time you use solution. Apply several times a day, cover solution when not in use. Make new solution up every couple of days. Works a treat. Hope it helps.
