Just recently our laptop has decided to play up. We always keep it charging while we use it as it doesn't keep it's charge for very long. The other night we took it upstairs to go on in bed and noticed the green light that's on the charger battery flashing instead of a permanent green light. At this point we hadn't connected the part of the charger that goes into the laptop to the laptop. Messed about with the charger for a bit and eventually it stopped flashing and stayed permanently green. At this point we connected it to laptop and the weird thing is, the second the bit if the charger that plugs into the laptop touched the laptop it switched it off as though it was short a short circuit!
The computer works ok until the charger connects to it. Plus now it has run out of charge
Is the laptop dead?
Buy a new laptop charger. It sounds like its faulty. To buy a laptop charger in shops is very expensive. I personal buy laptop chargers from ebay, as the tend to only cost around £10. Just search ebay for the same model number/laptop type and make sure that the voltage out is similar to that of the one your replacing. All information is on your battery for voltages.
Once you get your charger, try it and see if it solves your problem. If it does not then its a completely different issue.
