Thanks for all your advice yestereday everyone ... think it had just laid me a bit low and I was in a quandry about what to do and knew the anti-b's idea was a daft one.
Anneasquith - yes, plenty of people who would come with me!
I think I have turned the corner now with it healing and think I probably panicked and maybe it isn't an ulcer anyway ... just the blister went a bit manky. The pain did start to build up last night as we bathed it in salted water but it died off again and wasn't too bad in the night.
I have been putting Savlon on it methyl, thanks. Using the spray stuff in a little can when it was too painful to touch and the cream spread on a plaster at other times. There is definitely no splinters or paint etc,. in it thank goodness.
I shall soak it again tonight when hubby gets home to try and soften the "crusty bits" (sorry if that's too much info.,!!!) and hope for further improvement.
Really want it healed by 24th when I go on holiday ... don't really want to be dealing with it whilst in the wilds of Scotland!
