Has anyone tried one of those Circulation Booster machines which are around now,I suffer terribly with aching feet and legs..really painful.
As these machines are not very cheap £100-£130 approx.I do not want to buy one without some feedback.
Anyone out there who can give an opinion????
I wouldn't give two tuppence for one to be honest, I think they are a big gimmick/con.
the best thing is to try and find some kind of research on-line, I had a quick look and from what I saw quickly, other people are of the same mind as me.
My eldest sister has used this one and it has helped her a lot, one of her sons is trying it out at the moment and she has started to have trouble again
Which side of the circulation do you want boosting?
If it is on the arterial side, then you are wasting your money, but if you want the venous return to the heart increasing then this may be a good , but expensive idea.
The foot contains 4 layers of muscles and the contraction of these muscles pump blood towards the heart increasing the venous return from your legs.
If you are bed bound, chair bound and particularly after an operation, then this is an excellent idea,
RATTER makes a good point.........be sure that your swollen ankles and legs are due to poor venous return.
Bothlegs and feet, start to hurt after only walking a short distance or being on my feet...I mean really painful.
I have to sit a lot and that is why I thought about the circulation booster.
Doc says it is wear and tear, nothing to be done...short of a new pair of legs!!!
I'd suggest going back to your doc and asking for physiotherapy and help to manage your condition - 'just live with it' really isn't good enough other than getting you out of his surgery.
For example, hydrotherapy in a nice warm pool would help you keep mobile without you experiencing so much pain.
Well..IF..the pain that you get in the legs and feet IS due to circulation, then it will be on the arterial side and your Booster, would be of no benefit.
If you pains are musculo-skeletal in origin, then again the "Booster" would be valueless. Either way your problems do not seem to be venous in origin and hence the machine would be of no value to you.
I totally agree with squad and ratter here, I cannot see that one of these would help. I had a friend once who used to complain that the soles of her feet used to hurt when she walked. She was soon after diagnosed with diabetes, put on low doses of insulin, which seemed to help. I don't know if this is a typical symptom, but it might be worth checking out, just in case.
Squad, do you think this could be a possibility?
kloofnek, I hope you can find a solution soon. Best wishes.
Carakeel........an outside chance I would say.........but one should never say never in medicine as on me day it will come back and hit you in the face ;-)
