I think i'm on this site a lot, and I try to answer as many questions as I know the answers to. But a lot of the time, I'm just reading posts. I notice certain people crop up a lot on this site, such as smudge, FP, Andy Hughes, In a Pickle and so on, and there's others who answer the odd question now and then. Made me realise I'm just a small tea leaf in a huge AB tea pot. SO - who's the busiest ABer? Who has contributed the most number of posts/answers?

I've just looked back over some of my banned Q & A.

One banned Question was asking about the availability of Victorian Londont Street Maps! So you can imagine how many others were banned for unexplained reasons! These were when we had an over zealous Ed!

Don't make excuses Smudge - you are just extremely naughty!!
Come on QM don't be shy, how many answers have you given?
Hi hugo, last month there was a thread about answers etc and Bernardo had posted 8376 answers of which 1075 were banned.

If QM has posted that many, he's winning! But for the time being, looks like the current winner is smudge on 4,476! All valuable and interesting answers!

Ooops, should have said Bernado there. Serves me right for trying to post answers at stupid o'clock in the morning! Yawn!!

Just reading that figure off your profile page is not necessarily a very accurate measure of how many questions you have answered, though it does cover Hugoboss's "most posts" query.

Smudge, for example - a nice lady and I like her, even though she is a Tory! - invariably corrects every typo she makes by posting a further follow-up response. I, on the other hand, frequently get involved in long-drawn-out threads...discussions or arguments even, in effect...by posting multiple replies to a single question.

My point is that neither her figures nor mine are true records of "Questions Answered", as such, but merely posts made. I can't recall the Bernardo incident, but it would appear to be in the same sort of "artificial numbers" category.

For what it's worth, therefore, this post is my 4363rd.

Quizzy - thank you for that, you've posted exactly what I was too tired to type last night (well nearly everything!).

Also, one mustn't forget that not only do small corrections make for more answers - so do very short posts like: Hear, Hear, or I agree with you! Something lots of us do!

So, come on Bernardo, show us your new statistics - you must be the winner!

oooh & 1 banned!

I am dying to know about andy hughes

I'm a relative newcomer to this forum (21 Feb 2005) and am fascinated by the number of banned questions and answers there have been, for example smudge with her 77 banned questions and 301 banned answers. Does the axis of evil need to be redrawn?

Would smudge (et al) like to try and repost any previously banned questions? Just what was it about Victorian London street maps that the previous ed didn't want us to know ?

That's a jolly good idea Xollob - I shall pick some out, re-post & you can judge for yourself!

(I must admit tho', there are the odd one, two, three or four, relating to when we had the problems with 'imposters - say no more')!

Ok Xollob - I'm going to do a Bernardo - this is just to give you an idea of some of my Q's which were banned - please note, I no longer need answers:

Trampolines? - Painting Walls? - Oily stains on clothes? - Original window frames? - Printing images from Internet? - Help after defragging? - More disc space? - Symptoms of worms in humans? - Monkey Boots? - Living Wills & right to die campaign? - David Blunkett & Visa's? - Archbishop it's for yoo hoo? - Thick Hair ?- The saying Sexed Up? - What is SAP? - Shiver me timbers? - Faulty horn on my Marc C180 Esprit? - Diabetes Diet Sheet? - Where's my Excel prog got to? - Help Squirrels? - E-mail Addresses/Business Directory? - Printer Cartridges? - Teeth Whitening? - Painting walls? - Creating Labels? - Zippadee do dah? - Kazaa downloading? - Hair Cutting/Barbaring DVD's? - AB Password? - Where's me sign? - Invaded by Wasps? - London Buses? - OJ Simpson? - Legal Age for Sex, Marriage, Driving & Driving? etc.

There are a few others, but these were messages for users - including Quizzy, FP, etc.

smudge  - how does AB justify banning those perfectly reasonable questions!?

BTW, how did you manage to make a list of your banned questions like that?

I'm curious, has Bernardo ever asked a question?

smudge: "Trampolines - oily stains - defragging - David Blunkett - archbishop - sexed up - faulty horn - squirrels - sex, marriage..."

I'm surprised your account hasn't been terminated. Editor, protect us from this woman!

Questions: 0 Banned: 0 (see, I know everything already!! Yeah, right. I did once start to ask a question, but it already been asked and answered a few times, so I made a tactical withdrawal)

Answers: 430 (431 after this) Banned: 2 (one was an accidental duplicate, the other was the previous editor having a sense of humour breakdown)

BTW, hugoboss, could you not have phrased your title question differently? Wondered what I'd done wrong when I read that :O)

hugoboss - I'm glad you're wondering why too - I bet the new AB Ed would think the same if he/she were to read this thread!

If you go to 'My Profile' click on the 'My Questions' box, scroll down, it will show you any banned questions (that's if you have been as naughty as me & have any)!Follow the same procedure for banned answers.

LOL Xollob - yes they are very naughty questions aren't they - I await extermination!!

Hopefully we'll learn more about the much loved Andy Hughes in "how it works". Go to hugo's questions about 'articles'.

Picking up QM's and smudge's point about the difference between number of posts and number of answers perhaps we should have stated the number of Q's I gave answers to (in my case 394).

Perhaps there should also be a tab for Thanks received for answers I gave. Mine would barely be in double figures.

Most of the time there is no evidence that the question setter has even read the responses given.
