I would love to believe in ghosts, as it would support my hope that there is an after life, but I have never had any experience of the super-natural.

It would be very interesting if it was true but much as I would like to believe I do not. I often know what is going to happen before it does and am not surprised when it happens but I think it is because my brain picks up on small indications and I am not psychic.

That exorcist Ed is a great guy ( sorry... Gnome ), aint he? :0)
I really think that we are all living ibn the past and present at the same time, so if we see a ghost, it is just a bit of the past popping through to the present.
At one of the collieries I worked at, I was always sent to do the weekly maintenance work on a pump and switchgear at a certain junction in the old workings. After maybe the second or third week a couple of the guys asked me how I was getting on down there and it then came out I was the only guy who went down there alone. It seemed that back in the '50's the junction had collapsed killing four men and since then people had reported all sorts of things like cap lamps that disappeared as you approached and reappeared after you'd passed voices when there was nobody else about etc. I worked at that pit four a couple of years and never experienced anything, I just put it down to other peoples nerves getting to them, as anybody who's worked in a mine will tell you being by your self miles from anybody up some old workings can be pretty eerie
my wife who is extremely down to earth worked on a chicken farm which was built on part of a runway of an ex WW2 USAF airbase. She worked on her own in these sheds which were at least a mile from the nearest house, she had many experiences with tools being moved machinery switching it self on /off, touching on her shoulder &head, her name being called ,glimpses of shadows moving around, knocking noises etc. She took it in her stride and didnt let it bother her ,frightened the cr*p out of me just thinking about it .

from investigations i have done.

Ive had my hair pulled
Ive smelt a strong smell of roses that has moved about a room
Ive heard footsteps at a few locations
Ive seen black orbs in a dark room (something very spooky when seen)
Ive seen shadows
Ive caught footage of an unknown humanoid shape on a footpath at dusk
Ive been present in one part of a location where the same anomoly occured on camera in 2 different areas at exactly the same time.

I believe there is a lot out there waiting for explanation, and do believe in ghosts in some shape or form. But i do with that if they existed thati could see relatives again.
I wear medium clothes, is that supernatural enough for you?

Going back to the seventies.....We were on holiday in Majorca with our two children and stayed in a twin hotel complex with two pools & two receptions all shared facilities etc. One evening after engaging the child watching service we decided to explore the other hotel three floors below at ground level. Walking through the reception past two ongoing discos, I suddenly heard my oldest daughter who was about seven years old and tucked up in bed some considerable distance away-shout "dad" in a raised voice from behind me. I turned to look and she wasn't there. I remarked to my wife that I thought I heard her call me.....and we continued on a few more minutes before returning to the apartment. On return we found her awake but still in bed and without prompting she said she had thought I was in the corridor and had called out "dad". I won't ever forget that, now that she is one of my three estranged children....

matheous2 do you want to say why your three children are now estranged?
I remember one morning I was asleep and had no idea that I was sleeping late (I forgot to switch on my alarm) I heard a mans voice clearly shout my name which woke me up at exactly the right time. bizarre
there's a restaurant in the South Lakes out in the sticks between Kendal and Windermere - they do some B and B too. The house is an old Elizabethan house built just after the Armada. The bigger houses were made with beams from the ships and some of the planking went for panelling etc.

The design was classic "Lakes" with a main room and then smaller "service" rooms coming off it. In this house, the restaurant was in the main room, and which was probably the most intact part of the old house, along with its upstairs and staircase. Two smaller rooms came off a small corridor behind the restaurant, where the staircase was, one a bar and guest lounge, the other a lounge for the owners.

Various folk, family, friends and guests had reported seeing a "form" of a 13 yr old girl coming down the staircase and disappearing into the panelling outside their own lounge. This was several times over, probably, twenty years.

Anyway, the owners were sitting in the lounge one night with mutual family friends. The words "Help me" appeared in the ceiling in a brick red; put it this way, they wouldn't wash out and the ceiling had to be re-painted, the script in an old text of the Jacobean era.

They also had a rep of the Bish of Carlisle over pretty damned quick to excorcise it!
The restaurant is still going and does good pretty good duck.

Been a while since I last used one, but not have a bad experience yet. No reason why I should is there ?
Hello all. Many years ago one of my great aunts died. When my gran was going through her posessions she came across a white envolope which had 'for anne' written on. it contained a large sum of money, my gran opened the envolope, seeing all the money, decided to give it to the her remaining aunts. They accepted the money and bought a new sofa and carpets.
A few months later my mum who was Anne and her sister were talking about the wee aunt who'd died, they decided to try the ouigi (spelling?) board, and they made contact with aunt Alice. She spelled out the word Molly (grans name), then white envolope, and then money and for Anne, (my mum) realising what had happened, ran down to my grans grocery shop where my gran was, confronted my gran by saying, 'what happened to the white envolope with the money in?' my gran apparently went chalk white, and said 'how do you know'? then admitted what she'd done with the cash. I find that quite spooky!!
No . An old girlfriend used to say " Of course YOU won't see a ghost you don't beleive in them ! " Well I don't and I haven't ...
