What is your checklist - things you look for in a partner before you would consider them seriously? I am interested in what the differences are between men's and women's. For example, I asked my Dad this and he said that he thinks the thing that is most important to a woman is having a "reliable husband". Hahah!

I didn't have a check list.

I wanted it to be a bloke.

However, if I were going to have a list:

Kind
Preferably working so I'm not paying for everything
Interesting
Professing interest in what I like to do
My friends like him
Able to iron and wash up, to share the chores
Must like cats
^^ Awwww that sounds like desperation, like "any bloke" - LOL, I didn't mean that, I was just biding my time until someone I liked the look of came alone.
Sense of humour.
Loyal.
Hard working.
Caring.
Tolerant.
Pretty
Fit body
can cook
Likes music, clubbing and dancing
great sense of humour, the wilder and wackier the better
Faithful, reliable and honest.
Loves sex.
Do we naturally gravitate to people who look a bit like us? I think perhaps we do.

Any men on here care to join in? :)
I dont believe in checklists to be honest, I work on meeting someone and getting to know them first, then seeing if their is a connection.

i think having a list of attributes, skills and abilities to fulfil is bizarre!
I never had a checklist but on reflection important to me is
honesty
similar values
similar level of IQ
not destitute
physical chemistry
I agree cazz, I guess my list is my own sense of values and I'd hope anyone I lived with shared those values.
I think you're better off having a 'no no' list....There are some people that I would never have dreamt of going out with, regardless of how attractive they are.

Boxy....I would have said no to going for people that looked like ourselves. Until I look at old photos and see how much my Mum looks like my Dads sister. Then recently at a family funeral a cousin who had never seen my OH assumed he was blood related. It wasn't until he pointed it out that I thought 'OMG....'!!
Not enough paper in the world......
As long as he loves animals and doesn't look like Quasimodo, I'm fine !
I like your no-no idea, ummmm - I agree with that, I have a bargepole list rather than a must-have list, too!
think about it, how would you react to a guy who had a ticklist of criteria that you had to adhere to ie:

average height
ideal weight
must work
have a GSOH
must be able to do chores ie washing. ironing
intelligent
no pets or children
non smoker
caring and kind

looks quite a realistic list, but just having the list is a big big turn off.
That looks like an ad in a lonelyhearts column, cazzz :-)
Thing is aren't these the kind of things you have to put together when joining relationship sites?

Think you're absolutely right re. the looking like ourselves thing. Think maybe it's a primal instinct we have in which we try and continue our genes by choosing a partner who is similar to ourselves. Or it could be that the familiarity and comfort we felt as a child looking at our parents is subconsciously reflected in our choice of partner- they may well resemble a younger version of one of our parents! Hence, ourselves.
Honesty
Openness
Considerate
Artistic
Similar IQ
Lots of interests (not necessarily the same)
Enjoys Food and Wine - and Sex
Golfer a plus, however good or crap
Good Looking helps (I can describe that if you want....and I don't mean model like)
Lets face it when you're drunk, needy, lonely or desperate all checklists go out the window and our standards slip.
