I started using celeste contraceptive yesterday, having been advised to come off Yasmin after recent research showed it to triple the risk of a blood clot. Thing is i've been itching literally all over my skin today, to the point where I've drawn blood in several places from scratching. Is it linked to the celeste or a random coincidence? Will it calm down? Thanks in advance x

I would stop using it bushbaby, and see your doctor asap!...........
you could google the drug, and view the side effects.
'Skin reactions' are listed among the known side effects:

Discontinue use (and refrain from intercourse) and see your doctor.
First day....first tablet.......itching.

It is almost certainly a side effect of Cileste.
I would certainly monitor the situation for the next 24 hours as it may well settle.
If not, then do as Buenchico says.

Keep us informed.

Thanks everyone. It's not listed an a side effect on the little book inside the box, which is why I panicked a bit. I do still feel a little bit itchy but nothing like on the first day. I'm going back to the GP on Monday anyway so I'll mention it then and keep you posted.
Thanks bushby

It's sort of settled down now - GP said if it goes on beyond about another week to go back and see her but it's nothing major apparently. Thanks everyone.
