Ive been prescribed the above because the cocodamol 30/500 doesn't really do much for my pain. I've just taken my first one but Ive been reading about them, and I'm a bit scared now. The cocodamol make me a bit fuzzy, but by all accounts these seem to be much stronger. And Ive had a glass of wine (it is Friday after all). Has anyone any experience of these tablets?

50mg is small
How many a day?
I was on 6 a day and I was away with the fairies could'nt drive but they did the job with the pain.

1 or 2 tablets up to 4 times a day. i wonder if i will be able to work, i need to drive to work.
I also take loads of other pills but I could never have drove, so I went back to the Dyhydrocodiene M/R 120mg. I was having to get lifts to the doctors so I could never have stayed on Tramadol. Doc said to take up to 8 a day.
i took some the other day, had 4 x 100mg tablets, was out of it for 2 days, felt sick, away with the fairies and a bit floppy, ate nothing. Took them for back pain, but took extra because i felt really depressed and wanted to shut down for a few hours.
I used a tramadol and paracetamol combination for pain relief after my hip replacement op. Sorry can't remember tramadol strength, but it worked for me.
I never stopped being sick on them when in hospital, on discharge nurse told me not to take them unless I was desperate and the paracetamol wasn't enough. When OH took them, I was woken up in the night with him having a fit, taken into hospital, kept on being sick for 24 hours, when GP got letter from A&E he was worried enough to send him to a neurologist in case they had done any damage.
Even the Dr chatting to me while I was waiting in A&E was regaling me with horror stories.

I can only assume that it was bad luck that we both reacted so badly as I am sure they would not be prescribed if everyone was so bad.
These pills certainly work for the pain , but I will never put them inside my body again.

Restlessness, insomnia, hallucinations, nausea all came along with the pain relief. I had a tramadol drip up for a couple of days post-op and was very relieved when they stopped it. Hadn't realised that I was having side effects , thought it was the aftereffects of the surgery etc.
Having said that, lots of people take it with no side effects at all.
I think you will have to give it a go and see what it does for you . Wouldn't take it with /after alcohol, though.
50mg is not small bednobs, it is half of the maximum dose you can take at any one time.
I take 100mg 4 times a day and the biggest problems I have with it are nausea and insomnia. I have been taking them for years now.

Rozia, Tramadol do not come in 100mg tablets, the maximum strength of them is 50mg, you would have to take 2 capsules (as I do) to get 100mg.
YOu need to read the leaflet which comes with them, carefully - it might say NO alcohol.... try it over the weekend when you don't have to drive.
daffy, you can get 100 mg tabs of Tramadol
I find they give me a headache
Maybe my local medical authority will only prescribe the 50mg (cost issues maybe?) as I know for sure you cannot get 100mg tabs round here, I asked both my doctor and pharmacist if I could have them as I have trouble swallowing tablets.
what i mkeant was 50 mg is small, compared to the top daily dose of 400
I cant take them. They killed the pain but I was projectile vomitting and developed an interesting rash.
`ditto` mrs overall.
Awful things.I was given them for arthritic pain .Made me feel sick and spaced out .I'd rather stick with 600mg Ibuprufen as and when with a bit of teeth gritting rather than take those .They killed the pain but I just could not function properly .
It has taken me years to get used to them. The insomnia is by far the worst side effect. I frequently have to nap through the day because I can't sleep at night. I went back to bed after my post this morning and have just got up again at 12.45. :-/

your experiences make them sound awful so I will proceed with caution. i was ok last night, but fuzzy. didnt have to go anywhere so wasnt too much of a problem, except i was scared to go to sleep! I take them for excruciating period pain, so only need to take them for a couple of days a month. Hopefully I will find im able to cope with this.
they either suit you or they don't worth a try... I can't take them but a friend takes them and finds they are great
