male circumcision?

male circumcision, i am aware cultural/religous groups have newborn males circumcised , but it looks quite brutal! are the babies sedated prior to the procedure ? TIA

As Andy says, sometimes it has to be done for medical reasons. As a female I think it is far nicer looking and seems cleaner.

It's a sad fact Lottie that some, but by no means all men do not possess the wherwithall to maintain necessary grooming in the way that women almost universally do - it's a sad gap between the genders.

Smegma bacillus is found in the cheesy deposits beneath the foreskin and it is an acid fast bacillus of the group mycobacterium which is also shared by the tubercle bacillus (TB)
Now...apparently.....young men called up for military service in WW2 would scrape the smegma, smear it in their mouths and try to get out of military service by saying that they had TB backed up by the culture of the acid fast bacillus.

No a lo a people know that.

Anneasquith, I couldn't sleep the other night and was listening to BBC World Service on the radio. There was an item about a service in Uganda providing it for adults because there was evidence that it does prevent infection.
