About 4 yrs ago I had a cough that wouldn't clear up.
Sent for xray, something showing on my left lung.
To cut a long story short, it turned out to be lung cancer and I had to have the top half of my left lung removed.
Four weeks ago I developed a cough which won't clear up.
This time it's coming from my right side.
Doctors first time put me on antibiotics, doctor second time, same again plus steroids.
Finished those but still have cough which is now very wheezy.
Don't really want to go back to docs again, shall I leave it for another week?

Yes, leave it for another week and then if there is no improvement suggest a check chest X-Ray.

Thanks sqad. Always afraid of coming across as paranoid if I keep going to the docs.
surprised that ,given your history, the doc has not asked for x-ray yet...

I did think that myself but I don't like telling a doc how to do his job.
Don't think they like it when we make suggestions to them.

no dont leave it. return to gp and ask for an x-ray asap. good luck
missprim: my GP (having listened carefully to me talking) usually asks " and what would you like us to do for you?". I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing!
