Thing is nailit, are you prepared to spend the rest of your life with her in a sexless marriage because that seems a distinct possibility if she won't discuss it. You sound a nice person, not given to cheating on your wife, but I think that would be a tragedy if you were forced down this path. The reason I said ask her if she's OK with you taking a sexual partner was to make her aware that this is what could happen. I had a friend who was just like your wife and when I asked her if she was OK if he sought sex elsewhere she was extremely put out at the thought - well put out enough to "allow" him to have intercourse just the once in about 4 years. But she admitted she didn't love him anymore and said she stayed for the children. What a sad state of affairs.
I sympathise nailit. You seem like a lovely person- i think u should try (again) to talk about it and say that you are unhappy.

Granted i am younger and unmarried but my last longterm relationship (4.5y) ended up with no intimacy (i hated him but ddnt have the strength to leave) and i had dreams about exs and it took me under two weeks afyer we finally finished to find an ex!!!!!!! I really feel for you how frustrated you must be. I found it very very difficult to resist when i was still "attached".....
Hope you can work something out- you only get one kick at the ball you need to be happy xxx
No sex = no relationship
And here's Joke.... A man with all the depth of a one-day Acuvue...
.......and talking of sexless..........
Lol !!
OH`s first marriage was sexless. Ours wasn`t. Even through a horrible illness.
Sex was good, passionate and fun because our relationship was good, passionate and fun.
Now that he is dead I would be ashamed of myself if I had condemned a passionate man to a celibate existence. If both parties are truly happy with celibacy, great. But for one to deny the needs or wants of the other......wrong.
JL, many people don't find the sex the only glue that keeps people together. You're wrong there.
A relationship without sex is basically just a friendship
JL. Not sure about that. If OH and I had been unable to have a sexual relationship, as happened at times when he was ill, our relationship would still have been more than friendship.
