Hi all, I am looking at starting this diet on Monday (I'm working nights till then so see no point in starting over the weekend). I have read a bit on it and have ordered the book to find out even more about it. Just
Wondered if anybody has used it before and if so did it work? Thanks xxx
According to several sources the woman that has adapted this diet is a nutritionalist (sp) that has researched the body and dieting etc for over 20 years. And peoples own stories that I have found on forums similar to this have shown good results for people. Plus you never know till you try. I can think of worse things to spend my money on
Me!!!
It's been my WOE for over a year...best thing I ever did. Lost 22lbs over 3 months, and have kept it off for almost a year.

Thanks pasta, I had never heard of it before, and things like slimming world never appealed to me, with weekly meetings etc. I should receive the books Saturday so will have a gander and start Monday. Sounds strange
But I'm excited lol. And well done to you! Xx
From what I understand of it so far, it's like the Atkins diet (but I can't comment as I'm not sure what that is, just what some reviews have commented). However less restrictive in the foods that you can eat. Here's a link

See also the Q below this one on low carb/high fat diets....there are some useful links. This type of diet is catching on...so much so-it's been adopted officially in Sweden.
Coming in late as usual! But just wanted to endorse what Pastafreak says - the low-carb/high fat diet (whether it's called "Atkins" "Harcombe" "Dukon" etc) is the best way to lose weight. You lose without starvation and keep the weight off. It's more a change of diet than a traditional "diet" which you just use for a while to lose weight. I've lost 50lbs eating this way and will never go back to my old eating habits. I'm healthy and I can finally enjoy food without guilt! If you want more info on how to do the diet and why it's good for you, have a look at http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf They're not trying to sell anything - just give info and help. Good luck!
If topkat is like me,he probably gets frustrated at the lack of knowledge there is about this, when medical science and research keeps proving it to be the right way to go. But unfortunately-even too many Dr's are not aware.
Thank you both. I am just reading through the book now and really excited to start that I'm starting a day early! Lol. Well done both on your weight losses, I have a few stone to Shift at the moment, so will be adapting it :-) xxx
