Unhappy with sutures
30 Answers
I had a minor procedure yesterday involving a 2.5" cut. When I changed the dressing this morning I was horrified to find the roughest looking suturing I have ever seen. The edges of the skin are not neat but puckered and I think I will end up with a Frankenstein scar. Can anything be done?

There are assorted creams and patches available - they may be able to give you some of those to use once the sutures are out.

This means that they will be a "bu99er" to take out.
Nothing infuriated me more than poor, untidy careless suturing and i had a rule that whoever inserted the sutures took them out, which meant that they were put in more carefully.
Well, 2 avenues to go down:
1) Go back to the hospital or wherever and tell them that the standard of care was unacceptable and that you wanted the original sutures removing and reinserted.
2) Apply steroid cream e.g Synalar to minimise the scarring.
