Get yourself to the doctors asap.
possibly palpitations, i get them a lot, usually it's nothing serious, mine is caused by stress and anxiety.
sqad might throw some light on it, but if it happens again, and you are worried, then see a doctor, who can rule out any problems. x

Im not feeling anxious just now and ive had one prpopranolol today outbof the three i take!?

You think so owd? I feel ok now......but that was horrible?

Hmm x
probably just palpitations but best to see your gP it might be you need a different betablocker or a tweak on dosage,,, I get them with stress feels horrible at the time still standing though
What do you mean by funny Tinks? Hard and poundy is palpitations. I get them sometimes. They're a bit freaky but don't last long.
I also sometimes feel like my heart 'misses' a beat when my BP drops but I'm assured my heart is good for a few years yet.

Mabye ill just call them? Its almost like my heart stopped and i was coughing to make it go again! Yuck!

Hope its nothing to do with my tablets...im liking them!!

Thanks...sorry if i sound dramatic but i got a scare xx
Thanks to google I came across this
What you describe is a classic picture of a very common, very normal (yet often also very aggravating) phenomenon known as premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) or premature atrial contractions (PACs). These occur in almost everyone from time to time, but some of us feel every one while others are totally unaware they are happening. What takes place is this: a tiny area in the upper or lower chambers of the heart becomes momentarily irritable and triggers a heartbeat in advance of the next regular one. The heart, wanting to keep everything in order, pauses for a split second in order for the next regular (sinus) beat to occur. The early beat usually causes the flutter sensation and a sort of "void" sensation that some describe as taking ones breath away for a second. This usually is because the premature beat has occurred when the pulmonary valve of the heart is closed, which makes the early beat more noticeable and provokes the feeling of a need to cough. It is all very simple, and takes place in less than a second, but depending on what part of the heart's cycle it occurs in, it can seem like a rather dramatic and weird sensation.
Thats exactly how mine feel and the rate goes down to the low 40s give them a ring they will probably want the nurse to do an ecg
i have had heart tracings taken and no problems found, they stopped some years ago, then started up again a while back. I know they can be quite disturbing, and as said if really concerned see your doc.

It was like an irregular beat...flickery? Hard to describe? I get the heavy pounding heart when my tablet wears off...this was a flickery fluttery feeling as if it almost stopped and i took a coughing fit xx

Sh1t...my doc shuts at 2on a wednesday! :0/

Thanks grass that makes sense.....

I have hooked myself up once on a nightshift to telemetry i have a healthy heartbeat..but am now using beta blockers xx
irregular beat, fluttering sensations, get that too, it isn't nice, but i have tried to put it to one side, doctor said there was no problem, so took their word.
Yep sounds like what I get when my BP is low. If it's new to you though Tinks, get it checked out. It can't hurt to make sure. :)
can i ask, if not being nosy why you use beta blockers.
I've had the same, Tinks - it feels like you have to cough to restart your heart, strange feeling. First the fluttery feeling comes, then you cough.
