But seriously, trying to loose weight quickly is never a good idea, it can be risky for your health, and will usually not be permanant. The simple, best way to loose weight is no rocket science, just hard work, cut out as much fatty/sugary food as possible, replace it with fruit and veg and good bulking/ roughage agents, like cereals and whole meal bread, then get plenty or regular, aerobic excersise, running, cycling, swimming, at a rate and distance that actually raises your heart rate, perhaps three times a week for at least 30 minutes. Drink lots of water, reduce alcohol intake, and do little things like taking the stairs instead of the lift, or getting off the bus a stop early every day and walking the rest. Sadly though, it will be a long process.
I think the more over weight you are the easier it is to lose the excess because the fat isn't doing anything. If you're only a little overweight (probably a stone or under) then it'll take longer because the body kinda needs some of the fat.
The basci, eat less exercise more will probably work pretty well, TRy to swim rather than run because it uses every part of your body and I find it much easier to just go on auto pilot when I swim so it doesn't seem too much of a chore.
