Water trapped in ear =/
10 Answers
Hello,
I have water trapped in my ear from a bath a few days ago, went to boots/supermarket to find some swimmers ear drops or rubbing alcohol (after hopping on the spot with head tilted failed, these as emerged from google as best ways of clearing...) but couldn't find either so just tried some normal ear drops for dispersing wax... stupidly! This appears to have made it worse and now I'm wondering what an earth I can do to get it out? It's not painful at all but I'm sick of being half-deaf!
Any solutions much appreciated!

Retrospect is wonderful thing isn't it! Thought if the drops dispersed wax, then they might have the same effect as the swimmers ear ones but apparently not!
Anyone tried the actual swimmers ear drops and know if they work? And where the hell you get them from?
Feels like I'm forever at the Drs these days so if I can sort it mysekf I'd prefer it. Also tried the hairdryer thing and sleeping on it to no avail.

Puzzled54, tried your sitting with my head between my legs for a bit, then tilting my head technique this morning... nothing changed though =(
Local chemist was no more useful than boots... the lady suggested I try a surf shop for the swim-ear product?! Have located some online though so ordered that and if it doesn't work will be heading to the doctors.... once again!

Funnily enough I have got the same problem. I got water in my ear after a shower. As I am flying tomorrow, I used otex eardrops and done all the above things. Oh made me go walk in centre early this morning and she told me i had eczema in my ear. Otis externa I think she called it. She prescribed Otomize ear spray and after 1 spray the ache and deafness has improved greatly. Not sure if you can get this medicine over the counter. She also said try earcalm and before shower, bath emerging in water put vaseline in your ear to stop it happening again. Hope you get sorted soon.
