I dont let my grandchildren watch TV if they are lying on the floor. I always thought you had to be on eye level with the screen, therefore they have to sit on chairs. Am I medically correct?

In what way? What damage do you think they are doing?
Other than maybe getting a sore neck, I can't see what harm it could do.

Seem to remember that's how I watched telly until I was about 15.
l was always told sitting too close to the tv was harmful. My nan kept saying you will go square eyed my girl. I do wear big Diedre specs now, lol!
Eye level with the screen for long term computer use but not heard of it for TV. How would people who have the monster TVs on the wall cope?
I think you just invented a new grannymyth lol
I don't let mine sit too close to the tv, but as long as they are not irritating each other I couldn't care how they sit.

The problem was that from the floor, they would have to be looking up, instead of which, they should be looking straight on. Easier on the eye.
It maybe easier on the neck but I doubt it makes a difference as far as eyes are concerned.
Sqad?
I've always liked lying on the floor and watching the tv upside down... I wonder what that means for me?! Haha!
so what when they want to watch birds and aeroplanes?
It has no affect on the eyes at all. It's a myth.
its more likely to affect their neck than their vision.
Might affect the neck but not the eyes.
