Greasy food does that to me too - I only have fish and chips about once a month and never fry in the house.
I reason that I don't fry is not because I eat healthily but I have a short attention span and usually wander off and forget that I have things cooking. I set fire to pots and pans.
has he had his gall bladder out, tilly, as that can sometimes contribute, the fat passing into the gut. Otherwise, my finger would be pointing at the oil.
I agree daisya, that the fish may have been 'off'. I just wondered if the statins had anything to do with it. The trouble is that he thinks he can eat anything because he's taking statins. I'm not sure that's the right attitude.
Well, as you say that you rarely eat fatty food, perhaps it was just the fact that he did exactly that! Any kind of rich food, if you aren't used to it, can have that effect. Don't just blame the chippy!
If I eat certain types of fat, such as that form the chippie (bad fats) I get dreadful tummy upset
IF you suspect food poisoning I think you should report it to your environmental health dept
You should also get your OH to the GP
I think this was little more than over indulgence
I dont fry anything, apart from the odd egg, so on the occasion when we do have something like fish and chips my tummy sometimes suffers. just not used to the grease/oil on a regular basis.
It'll be the grease, tilly - and no, he shouldn't be eating just anything. Statins can only help with just so much - he needs to think about low fat, not high battered and crispy!
Yes, I think it was the grease, boxy. It serves him right for taking advantage of the fact that I wasn't around to provide a low fat option.
I suppose I could have left him a chicken salad in the 'fridge but he was determined to have his fish and chips.
