Why do teeth have such sensitive nerves? What purpose do they serve? Why do we need to feel with our teeth anyway?

Therefore when we get pain, it is a sign that something is wrong and we must visit the dentist. If you mean the pain you get when eating something cold, again, maybe that is our body's way of saying "I don't like this, it is putting me at risk- sort it out!"
