Tempt My Appetite Please
77 Answers
The last proper meal I ate was around 22nd December! Since coming home from hospital on Tuesday I have managed to eat 3 spoonfuls of home-made veg soup, 1 scrambled egg and three slices of toast in total. I am prescribed one of those malnutrition supplements but I need to get back into the habit of eating. I have no appetite whatsoever so any suggestions will be gratefully received.

I love steak and one of my friends has just suggested cooking one, cutting it into strips and having a sliver whenever I pass the fridge. I might try that.

Are you a marmite person, or not?
If you need some nibbles, take a slice of bread and cut it into quarters, or even smaller.
As you feel the urge, put a little peanut butter, marmalade, marmite or any other spread (no, not all of them at once - that would lead to disaster) and have a nibble.
Something salty, something sweet and sips of fluid will keep you going.

Poor you Mrs O , I'm with Tilly here, maybe some fish ? It is easily digested so if you can manage it , it might benefit. Either some smoked haddock/ cod cooked in the microwave for a few minutes or some fish in sauce bags, boiled for a few minutes. I do so hope you can get to eat soon, or they might take you back in . xxx
A nutritionist from McMillans came to see me one day as the chemo had left me with no appetite, I thought I was going to have a lecture on healthy eating, far from it whatever you can get down is fine, cake, ice cream, anything at the moment the district nurse has prescribed Fortisip, as I have no appetite, I hope this has been a help , and you both return to full health.
