Honey For Healing Wounds?

OH has had some dry skin down the edge of his foot just down from his little toe nail. There is now a deep cut which has appeared which is very sore when he walks. I have suggested he treats it with a healing cream and to put a plaster over it. All I have in the house is Savlon, Sudocrem or Manuka honey which I know was used for healing wounds many years ago - which do you think I should use please?

NOX - that sounds exactly like what my OH gets, but he's never tried that as a cure. Hmmmm....

Ann. When you use Tea Tree a few drops in water is all you need. I cleaned OH's hospital room with it every day and the only time he got a dirty hospital infection was when he was on a ward where I couldn't control the cleaning.
Honey is fantastic. I believe there are medical types of honey but I use Manuka.

Ann and Smow, she also bought manuka honey soap, shower gel and rescue remedy cream from Holland and Barratt and sound it all very good, it seriously was the only thing that helped her.

Tea tree is one of the few natural oils that you CAN use neat on your skin/ a wound, I definately wouldn't mix it with water to put on an open wound. X

Ann my dad suffers from cracked skin on his fingers, he swears by a product called Snowfire, maybe that would help your friend.

Assuming that MrA has no underlying pre-existing conditions e.g diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, the I agree with the post of methyl above.
