Had this cold/virus/bug for almost 2 weeks now - achey and shivery and the most awful loose cough! On day 5 of a course of amoxicilan which I think the dr gave me as a precaution rather than to treat an infection. - but how can I get rid of this bloody cough!!

Nothing much can be done for the cough as it will probably run its natural course which may be up to another two weeks.

Provided that you "acheyness and shivering" does not return and the cough is "loose"...then just "ride it out."

Thanks squad - just what I thought - still get the odd 'achey' day - just fed up with the whole thing! Supposed to be flying off on holibobs in three weeks - not if I'm still feeling like this tho!!
