I am a member of a support group and other members have suggested these as an alternative to Fluoxotine which i take at present and I swear they are not working. When I am down I can't get back up ...it is getting harder and harder to even try. Anybody else take Cymbalta ?

How long have you been on your present drug? It sometimes takes a while to kick in.

I haven't heard of Cymbalta. I looked at Google and it says that it is a SNRI - I haven't tried a drug from that category.

Speak to your doctor (or, better, your psychiatrist).

Over the years (since 1997) I have taken many different anti-depressants but none seem to work.

Good luck

RPF ? Is that something to do with the kidneys or an autoimmune problem?

Both wolf, my bowel is compromised and is cramping non stop. I have abdo pain frequently , and feel like pooh most of the time these days. It is auto-immune.
i take venlafaxine......the only one left to try before an maoi that does the trick. i recommend it highly if you have tried a few. cymbalta (or duloxetine) is expensive and many dr's would prescribe only as a last resort. my hubby takes that one with very few side effects....x
cymbalta is particularly indicated when other antidepressants cause gi problems, so may be useful to you x

Thanks lcg, I will mention it when I see my consultant next,
I have IBS - so stomach cramps I understand and also 30 second warning of need to go to the loo.

Sometimes it feels like once you get one illness then you develop a dozen more and that they all overlap.

That's me wolf, and when my abdo cramps , it bends me double and I can't breath through it. I don't go far ...just in case .
i agree wolfie, it's rude isn't it? You think the misery could be spread around some, but instead 1 person gets loads!
