hi all, this is kind of embarassing but I have just recently developed a pain in my breasts. The nipple feels tender and they hurt if knocked, like when i put on bras. They do sometimes feel a bit sore around my period, but as im at the middle of my cycle, I know it can't be this! I'm 16 and a size 32 a/b. I wondered if it could be growing pains but I assumed as i have been the same size for about 2 years, that I had stopped growing! any ideas??? thanks!!

Apparently they can keep growing until your 21.
i don't want to scare you, but could you be pregnant?

no! It did cross my mind actually, but no! wow i hope this is growing pains...i wouldnt mind slighty bigger boobs!
It'll just be growing pains.  Your breasts can always change size due to the contraceptive pill you are on and weight loss or gain.  If you're very worried go to your doctors, but I doubt it is anything to get too worried about.

At 16 you are jam packed with raging hormones, this tenderness sounds normal from what I can remember from all those years ago!  Especially as you are feeling tenderness in both breasts.

A good supportive bra should help & hopefully it should go away soon. If you were to be in excessive pain, I'd have a quick check up at your local womans clinic or Drs just to see if there's anything more that might help.

Hi sussexgal

Im nearly 40 (ssh) and I get breast tenderness from about 10-14 days before my period.  Sometimes just a bit of soreness, sometimes like you it really hurts if i just put my bra on and kills if i knock them.  I agree with purplepixie its probably your hormones, but pay a quick visit to docs just in case. Or you could try evening primrose oil, supposed to be quite good for breast soreness.
