Leave Sleeping Or Wake Up?
21 Answers
Thing 1 is fast asleep but has a temperature (don't know how high it is but she's hot, I would give her medicine if she was awake.) Should I wake her up and give her some calpol or leave her alone? (She's five and the latest household 'victim' of chicken pox.) Thanks.

What the Calpol will do is help her to sleep....so if she is sleeping, why give it? if you are concerned that her fever is dangerously high or that she is very unwell then get a doctor out.
I'd also let her sleep.

possibly a little late to reply, but i would say leave her be. try to only give calpol if you think she really needs it - i would certainly not wake a sleeping baby to give calpol. we took wee man to doctors last thursday as he'd had a fever over night (38.4) - she told us only to give calpol if we can't control temperature any other way. Have you got a digital thermometer you can pop under her arm to get a reading if your worried?
