i touch wood and metal, because i used to live in italy and there they say "touch metal", and i worry that they may have it right, but then i worry that we had it right all along, so now i always do both.

the pegs on my washing line HAVE to match each other AND the garment they're holding.

I wish you could buy black pegs!

Oh I forgot about the pegs crisgal! I didn't even notice I did it until my husband and kids took the mickey so many times that I started watching myself and trying to make myself pick up odd coloured ones. I hate it when you hang things up with odd coloured pegs, the job just doesn't feel as though you've finished it properly, does it?
i also have to say bread and butter when i hear a siren and the person im with has to say butter and bread.
and if i happen to be on my own i just whisper the reverse back to myself.

I have to clean my teeth at least 4 times a day.

When I lock the back and front door I have to check them 3 times before going to bed and I will get out of bed at least 3times to check before being able to sleep.

I can't sleep if the duvet is not flat on the bed and i have to have a certain amount of duvet hanging over my side of the bed.  I also prefer odd numbers.

2shortplanks:  I don't often read but like you i read the back page first
I hate anything to do with the number 3, no reason .
I cant have the volume on 23, 24 for example. 5, 10, 15, 20 25 etc have to be done! I clench my jaw when we drive past lamp-posts, driveways, benches, roads anything that makes an opening.

I can't sleep in a bed where I cannot see the door. This isn't usually a problem in a typical house bedroom but can be a real pain when in a hotel. I end up having to move the bed so I can see the door which must be a real pain for the hotel staff. I guess they think strange fun and games have been going on.

Daft or what

I do the numbers thing as well.  Everything has to be a nice round 10!  I don;t like odd numbers but I can cope with 5's.

I wonder why so many people share the same traits.  I wonder where we pick it up from?

I was always told that if you bang your elbow, it means you are in for a disappointment. My mum said that to cancel it out, you have to bang the other one, so that's exactly what I do.

I hate disappointments. I also hate having sore elbows.

Just out of curiosity - how many of you have been diagnosed with OCD??
When I hang out the washing I have to make sure that the pegs are matching colours, I also iron tea towels.
You lot are all bonkers :o)...but it makes me feel like I'm normaland I'll be pointing this thread out to my gf so she doesn't think I'm acontrol freak anymore lol
Ha ha ha... this thread is so funny and interesdting. I must say that the only thing I have is that if I watch telly in a dark room then I need the volume up louder. I feel like the noises are muffled and I can't hear properly if the lights aren't on.
I remembered two more things I do.  I have to devide a book into four equal parts and fold the bottom corners over.  If it's a really big book I will also devide it into 5 too.  When I have eggs on toast I have to cut the corner triangles off so that there is not crust left and the is a square then I have to cut the square into four squares and eat them one at a time.  Oh yeah and I have to eat the crust from sandwiches and toast first.  I'm NUTS!!!!!

With most people you would think they would prefer to sleep on the same side of the bed, no matter what bed. Especially for a couple, you'd think you'd always sleep on 'your' side. But me, I was switching sides on holidays, after moving house, when visting friends, etc and never wondered why.

I now realise I have to sleep on the side furthest away from the door!

And on the topic of numbers...when drinking water from a glass I often try to take 7 sips. This dates back when I was a kid and had to do 7 of everything. This was after my parents divorced and I notice my nephew adopting similar obessive/compulsive tics after his parents divorced, so it's obviously stress related.

hi, this has had me in stitches!

I always have to wear nail polish on my toenails, even when taking it off I do one at a time so I

oops , so I always have polish on at least one foot, if I don't something bad will happen. My boyfriend has to put his left glove on first before getting on his motorbike or he will die! wer'e a couple o freaks!
