Subscibed Threads
6 Answers
If I find an interesting question I often 'subscribe' to the thread. By doing that I find it makes life easier for me to find it again.
If its a very active thread I suddenly find my email inbox besieged with AB emails. Is there any way of opting out of the emails?
If it's not possible then may I suggest an 'opt out' box in members profiles?

Hi SA.....I think it is important to 'Subscribe' to interesting threads and ignore the actual E/mails; by having them directed into 'Junk Folder', which can be emptied by a single click of the mouse. You'll still have an up-date in your list of 'Subscribed Threads'.... ..Incidental ly, Newsletters will not end up as junk....Well they do Not so far as I am...

It's just the email I don't want (sorry AB Editor ☺).
I can see what your saying jno, but that would involve adding and deleting in my Bookmarks/Favorites which is would take up too much time. I already know if there's a reply by looking at the 'subscribed posts' when I log in. Much easier to have an 'opt out' box, similar to the one for the newsletter.
My Bookmarks folder is already quite big.

I'm very unlikely to set a new email addy just to collect AB's emails, somewhat defeats the object of what I'm trying to achieve ie, no emails.

I pick up my emails using email client software on my pc. I set some 'rules' and AB's emails are sent direct to the deleted items folder. When I exit the programs they get deleted automatically.
My suggestion is that there should be an option to 'opt out' because it's just a waste of time for me, I just do not want the emails in the first place.
