I know its not a very nice topic, but just this last few weeks I have been suffering with constipation and a bloated feeling, I have taken senokot and the senokot orange drinks, I've just bought some muller low fat probiotic yogurt drinks are these any good or has anyone got any good ideas.  Thanks a lot.

Sesame oil a small amount daily.Also dandelion tincture.

I am a constant sufferer, I use Fibre Gel and eat plently of cereals, Although someone told me to eat Purnes or get Purne juice.

For a cheap and natural remedy try a couple of teaspoons of sugar in some boiling water. A bit more palatable than Vinny100_2 and Bottom's cures!

brilliant topic!!!  Vinny - wot do u do with the sesame oil?!?!?  I agree with the Fibregel cure - it even works for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which i guess you could say is the exact opposite of Linda's problem.

And yessss - prunes - be careful how many you eat at any one time until you know how many you need to make you 'go' - pretty potent.  As for prune juice, i know for sure if i drink lots of it i sound like a machine gun!!!

oooh, and i was told by a doctor once that you may as well drink water for all the good those v.expensive probiotic drinks do for you.

speaking of water - you must drink lots of water each day or the fibre you eat can't expand and do it's job.

Pukka herbs do  really good capsules, called Triphala, they have 3 different herbs and you take them with loads of water before you eat any meals.  They help, and also figs - I don't find prunes do the trick, so if I am desperate I soak figs, pumpkin and sunflower seeds overnight and have them with yoghurt and away you go!!
I was once told by a gp that probiotics are a waste of money etc. I had tests recently at the hossie,my cholestral level was up to 7.They told me to use Flora proactive drinks,spread and milk. In just over 5 weeks my chol level has dropped to 4.98.
