Does anyone know how to get rid of 'Back Spots' I have tried Nutrogena - but it was rubbish! I tried using sunbeds and it worked for a while but they came back when I stoped using them! I dont want to use sunbeds again - I dont like the orange leather face look!!

Anyone got any ideas???

Apparently most acne can be cleared up by a course of drugs, so if you go to your doctor, they can prescribe something - but you will have to stay off the alcohol for a few weeks. Small sacrifice in the scheme of things really.
exfoliate and try to keep to wearing cotton tops for a while. Don't know if you're a girl or not, but if you can go without a bra, give it a go. It can often get a little sweaty under the back strap especially in this weather! Also try wearing a vest top or something to keep the area in the fresh air. If all else fails go to the doctors, but unless it really is serious acne they probably won't be able to help. Good luck!
When my boyfriend had them, his doctor recommended this stuff called Aquasept. It's a bacterial cleanser used by surgeons and stuff and you can get it over the counter at most chemists. It's really cheap too! x
There is also a treatment you can get at most beauticians called Cathodermie treatment. http://www.peppershairandbeauty.co.uk/guinot.htm
I tried the Neutragena stuff and found it dried my skin out too much. Had a really itchy back. I just live with spots on my back. The wife doesn't mind it, so why should I? I must admit though, I have had my insecurities about it. I also tried antibitoics (oxytetracycline and minocin) when I was a teenager. Not sure if they just stopped the spots getting worse or if they did diddly squat. I suspect there are better drugs out there now though.

Good luck!
Do you live near the sea? If so, regular swimming in the sea would probably sort it. If not, try salt baths.

when i suffered it aged 15 i went to the doctor and he prescribed this roll on medication where its like a huge pritt stick that u rub over the infected area and it clears it up over 4 or 5 days, he recommended that i do this over the whole area, including my neck and face and after about a week i was spot free and rarely get them again.

I think he called it Zineryt, but whether it is still on the market 13 years later i dont know. Best bet is to ask the doctor and tell them that it is causing u confidence problems, that should encourage them to help u.

Oh and i was also prescribed something sounding like oxytetracycline or something similar and that was a tablet i take everyday for 2 years that basically helped stop any spots i had from scarring and staying!

I had severe acne on my back and chest from the age of 16. I tried all sorts of prescribed antibiotics, creams, lotions. Nothing worked. I must stress that my case was really bad and this should not be used for mild acne as it is extremely strong, and has various side effects, not all of which are permanent such as Photosensitivity. It comes in a small tablet in various doses. You is only obtainable through your GP and cannot be taken by women who are pregnant or planning to have a baby for at least 6 months after. Below is a link to the PDF leaflet. I can honestly say it works like a bomb. I noticed my back clearing after the first month. It also stays in you body for upto 10 years so to stop reoccurance but again I dont know how serious your case is.

you didnt say if you were a male or female. if you're female then i'd suggest going on a form of the pill called dianette. its for face acne i think but since ive been on it (about 4 months) all the spots on my back have cleared up completely too! if you go to the doctor and describe your problems and give the name of the pill then im sure they'd prescribe it for you straight away. if you're male, then sorry i can't help! xx

You don't say whether your back is smothered in spots or whether it's a matter of the occasional but ugly blemish. I would suggest investing in a good back brush and antibacterial bath gel and eating plenty of green vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, green beans etc). If your skin hasn't improved within two weeks then by all means see your G.P. about it.
Neutrogena, antibiotics, and anitbacterial ointments will not work because what you have is a FUNGUS. You can try antifungal cream or see a doctor for Lamisil pills. The spots usually dissapear in the winter but appear when you are exposed to the sun or humidity.
i tried all of them antiboitics betnoivate rd works to sum extent but dr stop prescribing it as it thins the skin,
i tryed some strange methods id bleach in the bath canistern they are more like carbuncles though
get a big exfoliation brush and use it in a circular motion on yer back at least once a day, gets away all the dead skin which can cause spots. i hate backspots, the sun has helped mine alot recently. but seriously, exfoliate - works wonders!
Back spots are a real nuisance but I have seen this bog where someone reccomends a natural, holistic way of clearing up their back spots. This is something I would consider if all of the other options failed.
