spots on the back!
Hi everyone. I could really do with some help please, i have alot of spots on my back. Ive always had the ocassional one but i started getting more than usual so i stoped using lotion after showering everyday (which was a year ago). So it's been a year since i used lotion because i thought that the lotion was causing me to break out but it just seems so have gotten worse. Im not a teen so it has nothing to do with adolesence. Ive now been left with a load of scars which isnt very attractive and with the summer round the corner id really like to wear some backless tops but im afraid to do so. Please can someone recommend something i could use on my back to stop further spots and to get rid of the scarring. Thanks.
xx

The pill diannette helps with acne, as well as being a contraceptive. I suffered with this problem in my teens and the Pill cleared it all up.
Alternatively, try one of those back brushes and make sure you give it a good scrub when you're in the shower, with some antibacterial face wash. Don't use anything too strong though so you don't dry the skin out.
If possible, try and get a bit of sun on your back - you could wear a vest top just around the garden when it's a nice day.
hi there ...i know the feeling i have had really bad spots on my back and yes to an extent a good diet can help. However i would suggest you use QUINODERM cream over say a week applying once a day at night (though keep yourself covered with an old t-shirt as if it gets on sheets etc it stains them) the cream is great and shows results in afew days...tho i would not advise using it on the face.
the cream should be avliable at your local pharmasist
Depends how you feel about going back on the pill ket.
Maybe you could try some of the other suggestions first? The doctor may also be able to prescribe cream.
Mine certainly cleared up with the diannette but I came off it because i think there is a higher chance of getting DVT with that brand. The spots didn't come back though!
If this is the case, they will not stop appearing and you need to go to the doctors for a dermatologist referral as there is some seriously strong medication you can take which will help.
I use quinoderm as well, but it doesnt clear up the scars, however, I suggest, although it is advised against to use a sunbed, or when on holiday, let the sun get to your back, this will clear up both the scars and the spots. But right now, I have to say, my back is a real mess, completely covered with spots and scars, I'm using the quinoderm again and going on holiday in 7weeks time. So hoping it'll sort my back.
Benzyl peroxide [Quinoderm] in most cases is enough needed to reduce acne, however, if you have not used it before the skin can sometimes become a little more inflammed and red, but this will subside.
If over the counter things dont work after 3 or 4 weeks following the instructions, nip into your GP and ask for something stronger, such as Oxytetracycline - this is an antibiotic which prevents the growth of certain types of bacteria. I asked to be prescribed this when I was at university as id heard it had very good results. The results were good, and I still take a course of medication if it flares up again.
